 Serena Wang serves as a volunteer Data Scientist at Women of Color On The Move, where she uses data to support community‑centered programs and translate impact into actionable insights. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Machine Learning and Data Science at the University of California, San Diego, and brings experience in data science, analytics, and machine learning across nonprofit and industry settings.

Serena is deeply committed to using data as a tool for equity, visibility, and social change, with a strong focus on uplifting women and marginalized communities. Jassmine is a Human Resources Assistant with Women of Color on the Move and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration – Marketing from Sacramento State (2024). She supports the organization’s mission by managing records and assisting candidates through the recruitment process, while also serving as a Marketing and Outreach Coordinator.

With over five years of experience in marketing, customer service, data analysis, sales, and community outreach, Jassmine brings strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills to her work. She is deeply committed to advocacy and community service, having volunteered for five years with My Sister’s House in support of women and families affected by domestic violence. Outside of work, Jassmine is an avid traveler who has visited over 20 countries.

Monique Nazon is a Queens‑based social services professional with a B.A. in Psychology and an M.S. in Counseling, specializing in Substance Abuse and eligible for the C.A.S.A.C. Trainee Certificate. She has several years of experience in child protective services, child abuse prevention, and supportive housing programs serving individuals with HIV, mental illness, and substance use disorders. Monique has also worked extensively in education, teaching in early childhood, elementary, special education, gifted, and after‑school programs.

A committed volunteer, she has served as a bilingual French/Creole interpreter, an English tutor for adult immigrants, and an academic tutor for children of immigrant families. She is currently training to become an online recovery host and crisis intervention counselor. Beyond social work, Monique is a poet dedicated to inspiring and motivating communities, and she is an active member of the World Afrikan Diaspora Union (W.A.D.U.). Kavya Anand works as a Peer Counselor at Women of Color on the Move. Kavya is a premedical student with a passion for mental health, harm reduction, and stigmatized disease advocacy.

A proud UCLA alumna, she currently works as a Behavior Technician, where she supports elementary students with disabilities and promotes embodiment-centered learning. Her past research explored the neurobiological mechanisms of opioid addiction, with the goal of improving treatment approaches and reducing stigma around substance use.

Beyond research, Kavya has over four years of experience in social advocacy as Vice President of Outreach at Team HBV, a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness about Hepatitis B in underserved communities. In this role, she created educational workshops, led health fairs, and helped organize Team HBV’s national advocacy conference. Apart from her career interests, she is an avid cat lover, musical creator, and horror movie enthusiast.

Driven by a strong passion for social justice and advocacy, Mats’eliso has contributed to international initiatives as a United Nations Volunteer, supporting gender equality and youth engagement across East and Southern Africa. She remains committed to protecting vulnerable populations and creating lasting positive change, guided by her belief that every woman deserves dignity, protection, and the opportunity to thrive.

Ruchi is a trilingual journalist from India. A recent graduate of UC Berkeley’s Journalism School, she’s previously worked at news publications and magazines both in India as well as the United States. After spending a year researching violence against women journalists in India, she moved to Berkeley, California, which is where she’s currently based. As a young woman in India, she’s seen and experienced first-hand the multitude of factors that affect women’s participation in communities, their commitment to themselves, as well as their well-being and sense of self. Through her reporting, she’s always worked towards drawing more attention to social issues and incorporating inclusive voices across the media industry.

She first started volunteering to support women during the pandemic, as a reproductive health teacher to underserved girls aged 9-15 in Maharashtra, India. She believes in giving a voice to women of color across countries through her journalism, as well as her involvement in grassroots movements. Apart from meeting new people and watching movies in her free time, she loves talking about space, money, and feminist literature.

A graduate of McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific, Sacramento, Geraldine holds an LL.M. in International Business Law. Before moving to the United States, she practiced law in Nigeria, advising corporations, foreign investors, embassies, and government agencies on governance, compliance, and labor matters.

Geraldine maintains a strong understanding of U.S. immigration and regulations, which informs her consulting and strategic advisory work. She continues to foster innovation by blending global legal insight with practical business strategy.
