Natalia serves as a Volunteer Recruiter and Learning & Development (L&D) contributor with Women of Color On The Move (WOCOTM). With experience across education, technology, and workforce services, she supports individuals in building digital skills, accessing resources, and achieving personal and professional goals. She is particularly passionate about using technology as a tool for empowerment, especially for individuals facing barriers to opportunity.

Natalia holds a Law Degree from the University of European Studies of Moldova and an HR Essentials Certificate from Cornell University. She has also completed certifications in Project Management, CRM, HR Learning & Development, and AI Essentials, reflecting her commitment to lifelong learning. As a multicultural professional fluent in Romanian and Russian, she is dedicated to creating fair, inclusive, and supportive experiences that help individuals feel confident and empowered to grow.

Peer Counselor

Kavya Anand works as a Peer Counselor at Women of Color on the Move. Kavya is a premedical student with a passion for mental health, harm reduction, and stigmatized disease advocacy.

A proud UCLA alumna, she currently works as a Behavior Technician, where she supports elementary students with disabilities and promotes embodiment-centered learning. Her past research explored the neurobiological mechanisms of opioid addiction, with the goal of improving treatment approaches and reducing stigma around substance use.

Beyond research, Kavya has over four years of experience in social advocacy as Vice President of Outreach at Team HBV, a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness about Hepatitis B in underserved communities. In this role, she created educational workshops, led health fairs, and helped organize Team HBV’s national advocacy conference. Apart from her career interests, she is an avid cat lover, musical creator, and horror movie enthusiast.

I am a Business Administration graduate with an MBA and bring over five years of experience across administrative, operations, and coordination roles in the healthcare and logistics sectors. My background has equipped me with strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills, which I apply to manage processes and support team effectiveness. I am deeply interested in people development, community building, and creating inclusive spaces where individuals can thrive.

I am inspired to volunteer because of my passion for empowering women and contributing to initiatives that promote growth, inclusion, and opportunity. I particularly enjoy coordinating activities, supporting team members, and building meaningful professional relationships that enhance collaboration. Zeena is the Volunteer Director of Human Resources at WOCOTM, leading with a strong focus on equity, empowerment, and lasting community impact. With a background in bedside nursing, she gained firsthand insight into patient advocacy and systemic gaps affecting underserved populations. She later transitioned into healthcare leadership, where she builds high-performing teams and improves systems of care.

Alongside her leadership work, Zeena has mentored and taught nursing students, reinforcing her belief in education as a powerful tool for change. At WOCOTM, she is committed to developing a diverse and resilient workforce while creating opportunities for others to grow into leadership roles. Her work supports the organization’s mission to empower marginalized communities through access to healthcare, education, and economic resources.

 Serena Wang serves as a volunteer Data Scientist at Women of Color On The Move, where she uses data to support community‑centered programs and translate impact into actionable insights. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Machine Learning and Data Science at the University of California, San Diego, and brings experience in data science, analytics, and machine learning across nonprofit and industry settings.

Serena is deeply committed to using data as a tool for equity, visibility, and social change, with a strong focus on uplifting women and marginalized communities. Skilled in Python, SQL, dashboard development, and predictive modeling, she combines technical expertise with purpose‑driven work rooted in feminist values and community empowerment.

Jassmine is a Human Resources Assistant with Women of Color on the Move and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration – Marketing from Sacramento State (2024). She supports the organization’s mission by managing records and assisting candidates through the recruitment process, while also serving as a Marketing and Outreach Coordinator.

With over five years of experience in marketing, customer service, data analysis, sales, and community outreach, Jassmine brings strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills to her work. She is deeply committed to advocacy and community service, having volunteered for five years with My Sister’s House in support of women and families affected by domestic violence. Outside of work, Jassmine is an avid traveler who has visited over 20 countries.

Jenisse holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from leading universities in Panama and is fluent in English and Spanish. Now based in North Carolina, she partners with Women of Color On The Move to support equity, education, and empowerment initiatives. Monique Nazon is a Queens‑based social services professional with a B.A. in Psychology and an M.S. in Counseling, specializing in Substance Abuse and eligible for the C.A.S.A.C. Trainee Certificate. She has several years of experience in child protective services, child abuse prevention, and supportive housing programs serving individuals with HIV, mental illness, and substance use disorders. Monique has also worked extensively in education, teaching in early childhood, elementary, special education, gifted, and after‑school programs.

A committed volunteer, she has served as a bilingual French/Creole interpreter, an English tutor for adult immigrants, and an academic tutor for children of immigrant families. She is currently training to become an online recovery host and crisis intervention counselor. Beyond social work, Monique is a poet dedicated to inspiring and motivating communities, and she is an active member of the World Afrikan Diaspora Union (W.A.D.U.). He is an experienced HR specialist with over 15 years of experience in human resources management, administration, and public health programs. From Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC); he held MBA in Human Resource Management and Bachelor degree in Management of heath program with many certificates in Human resources management.

Driven by a passion for social impact and institutional development, Eric supports initiatives that enhance workforce performance, build capacity, and promote inclusive systems. He remains committed to advancing sustainable change, guided by his belief that strong institutions and empowered people are essential to development.
